Tolsey Museum in Burford

The town museum houses a collection of royal charters from 1350, corporation maces, seals; various everyday objects and tools from bygone Burford life.

This collection also includes the charters and there are exhibits that recall the trades that flourished in Burford, including quarrying, bell-founding, brewing, rope-making and many others. There is also a doll’s house that has been made by the people local to Burford, near Witney, in the style period of Jane Austen.

Visitors please note that there is no disabled access to the Tolsey Museum which is situated up stairs on the first floor.
