Chipping Norton Theatre presents Moby Dick

Nantucket. 1851. The centre of a whaling industry that transformed blubber into oils, perfumes and candles – for a brief while, lighting the world. It's to Nantucket that Ishmael is drawn, enrolling under Ahab, Captain of the Pequod – a man bent on destroying Moby Dick, the white whale that lost him his leg. As Ahab leads them across oceans and seas, his single-minded desire consumes Ishmael, the crew and the Pequod itself.

Chipping Norton Theatre presents The Mikado

The Chipping Norton Amateur Operatic Society return to Gilbert and Sullivan with the sublime Japanese fantasy The Mikado. Amongst other unforgettable characters you will meet Ko Ko, the acting Lord High Executioner. Ko Ko has been neglecting his job but the Mikado is due to arrive so Ko Ko had better find someone to execute soon. The show includes a wandering minstrel, a Lord High Executioner, three little maids from school and a man with a ‘little list’.

BFG at Chipping Norton Theatre

A wonderful storytelling performance of Roald Dahl’s classic. Telling the story of Sophie and her adventures in Giant Country with the loveable, whizzpopping Big Friendly Giant, this production is directed by ‘national children’s dramatist’ David Wood, and performed by Anthony Pedley, who played the part of the BFG in the original stage production and wowed young audience’s at last year’s Chiplit festival with the much loved Taste of Dahl. All the major characters are brought to life in this tale of dreams, queens, giants, and snozzcumbers!

Michael Ball: Both Sides Now at the New Theatre

Michael Ball, Britain’s leading musical theatre star has today announced an extensive UK tour in April and May 2013. In addition to this Michael will be returning to BBC Radio 2 next year with a brand new radio show and in February he will release a new studio album also titled Both Sides Now. Both the tour and the album will comprise of 2 halves, encompassing Michael’s biggest hits from both his recorded and stage careers.

Derren Brown: Infamous at the New Theatre in Oxford

The show promises to demonstrate once again why Derren is one of the world’s most renowned live performers; a dark manipulator of magic and mind control.
